How to check if your MacBook has an iCloud Activation Lock
Hold the ‘Option’ key and hover over the apple icon and click on ‘System Information’
Under ‘Activation Lock Status’…it should say ‘Disabled’
(If it says ‘Enabled’, that means the MacBook is tied to someone’s iCloud Account and you should NOT buy it!)

How to check if your MacBook has a Management Lock (MDM lock)
Method #1 – Copy and paste this command into Terminal and hit [Enter]:
profiles status -type enrollment
Both results should come back as ‘No’

Method #2 – Open System Settings >> General >> Device Management >> If it has an MDM Lock…you’ll see a profile already installed.
